Indian Experience

Join Prerna Chandiramani for a truly magnificent experience learning about all things Indian. Have a go at Bollywood dancing, learn a how to count and write your name in Hindi and even create your own Rangoli. Rangolis are one of the most popular art form in India; a form of Sandpainting traditionally done on the ground outside Indian homes. On this fabulous workshop you will be using coloured rice to create gorgeous traditional patterns on paper that you take home with you at the end of the day. Prerna will also demonstrate how to create Rangoli’s with fresh flowers and even floating ones too. For an exceedingly cool and captivating cultural experience then come along and join the fun!

Hard Lines

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that can be the most effective. Everybody recognises the thick black lines and rectangles of primary colours of Mondrian’s paintings. Banish curves, cast out pastel colours and stick to the basics. Strip art back to its simplest form with artist Imogen Harvey-Lewis, collage or paint with big strokes using only black and primary colours. Paint your own really big versions of Mondrian before having a go at translating it into glass. Make a piece of fused glass using Mondrian’s unique style that will look really amazing with light shining through it to give it another dimension altogether.

Incredible Families

Everybody loves Pixar’s amazing animated films so we are going to use them as inspiration for this wonderful workshop with Imogen Harvey-Lewis. Discover some tricks of the trade in creating your very own Incredible family. Think about your own family and what super powers you could give them not to mention those you want yourself. Simple lines and shapes are the key to create really amazing characters. Imogen will show you how to create fabulous drawings and develop your own cartoon world. Turn your images into mobiles, mini theatres and other handy toys that you can use to play out your super-powered lifestyle. Bring your imagination; we provide the rest.
