Some of the most treasured possessions are the ones made by our children or that remind us of when they were so tiny. Deborah Pearson from Paint A Pot in Nailsworth is bringing her creative talents to Prema to help parents and toddlers decorate their very own ceramic treasures. With beautiful coloured slips try drawing together or for smaller tots how about some tiny hand prints on a plate? Enjoy an afternoon with other mums and dads and make a treat for a loved one. Price includes two small items such as a mug and a plate, more of these and other larger items available on the day at an extra cost.

Paper Mechanics

Tue 31 May 10am-3pm Ages 8+ £15 or £12 (Friends)

The art of paper mechanics and pop-up may be technical yet it’s easy to learn to create impressive and surprising results. Illustrator and paper folder Lisa Yardley is bringing more of her creative skills to Prema in this brilliant one-day workshop. Learn the basics of folding and cutting (craft knives will be in operation) and then combine and adapt techniques to produce individual and elaborate designs. Great for books and cards, come and enjoy this really versatile and inexpensive process.

School of Rogue

Wed & Thu 1/2 Jun 10am-4pm Ages 9+ £15 or £12 (Friends)

Rogue Theatre, one of the UK’s most prominent and daring physical theatre companies, comes to Prema this summer. Spend two delirious days with Angelina and Ollie to delve into the drama of magic, circus, scripting and your own physical being. Learn bags of new tricks and work together on the text, staging, lighting, direction and performance of a show over the two days. This workshop is suitable for young people with and without disabilities and is supported by the Clore Duffield Foundation. The places are sure to sell very quickly so book now to make sure you’re here to help create the greatest show on Earth!

Smash It

Sat 25 Jun 10am-1pm Ages 7-11 £10 or £8 (Friends)

This awesome workshop for younger drummers uses rhythm games and body and voice percussion with high-energy and great acoustics at Prema. Stuart Dunn brings along a great range of percussion instruments and drums and gets you working as a group producing infectious and exciting rhythms. From samba to hip-hop beats the place will be jumping!

Beat Route

Sat 25 Jun 2-5pm Ages 12+ £10 or £8 (Friends)

Physical, energetic, and good and loud, pick up your sticks and join Stuart Dunn at Prema this summer and work on beats with high-energy drums and percussion. From Samba to Hip-Hop and Bhangra to Drum n Bass, there are rhythms to suit any musical style. If you are in a band and want to connect better as a group or simply like the idea of learning new grooves and breaks, then this is for you.

Ugly Bug Ball

Sat 2 Jul 10am-2pm Ages 7-11 £15 or £12 (Friends)

It’s a veritable bug hunt when the Ugly Bug Ball arrives at Prema this season. The very creative Emma Bradshaw brings her love of nature to this wild workshop. Using striking silhouettes of your favourite creepy crawlies you will make beautiful processional puppets to take on an adventurous walk to millennium field. Then the hunt will begin as we search for bugs to catch, draw and release.

Action Stations

Sat 9 Jul 10am-4pm Ages 9+ £15 or £12 (Friends)

Following on from Super Model, this creative workshop with animator Matt Pollock will see you breathing life into your very own creation. Also open to any budding animator who wants to try some stop motion animation using found objects or toys. Full of useful tips and accessible materials and equipment you will be well on your way to setting up you own animation station at home. Bring your model or a selection of toys.
