Prema has been developing a shiny new blog where the Centre will be posting some of their favourite things (a noted absence of raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens though) as well as some really cool movies of upcoming shows, some great music to listen to and images and other sites to enjoy. In addition to signposting you to some of the coolest stuff around, Prema’s blog will allow you to take a look at the goings-on behind the scenes and you’ll find out about all sorts of projects and exciting developments at the Arts Centre.
The blog has been put together by Prema’s education officer Abby Conway and we hope that it will be a new forum in which you, yes YOU, can interface much more with the staff team and find out loads about Prema – Gloucestershire’s buzziest little hub of arts activity.

What is Prema?
Prema is a small, independent rural Arts Centre. Its programme is the envy of many a larger, urban venue. Prema, situated in a former Baptist Chapel has a unique, intimate atmosphere where you can experience dynamic live events and a broad range of participatory arts opportunities. It is a small, welcoming venue in which you can experience and get involved with forward-looking, quality creativity.

Where is Prema?
Prema is situated in the beautiful village of Uley, just off the B4066 between Dursley and Stroud. Our nearest train stations are Stroud (7 miles) and Cam & Dursley (4 miles). To drive here takes 25 minutes from Gloucester, 15 minutes from Stroud and 40 minutes from Bristol. It's really not as far as you might think!

Prema Prices
You'll notice that throughout our programme, Prema's Friends are offered significant discounts on all events - performances, workshops, classes, all drop-in facilities (darkroom, pottery and video editing). This is an ongoing commitment to make our excellent activities as affordable as possible to the widest range of people. Easier payment schemes can be negotiated by calling Prema's Office and talking to a member of staff.
When joining the Friends of Prema, you will be given a membership number which can be used when making a reservation, and with that number, Prema will automatically offer your the discounted price (as marked in the programme).
Our Friends receive priority mailing for all events - meaning that you should not be disappointed by events having sold out. You'll be notified of all our activities well in advance and will receive invites to exhibition openings and parties at the Centre.
Our concessions price (concs) is for those who rely solely on a state benefit to survive (incl Family Credit). If you can afford to pay the full price, please do not ask for a concession as it invariably affects the amount we pay the artists.
How To Book and Pay
Prema can take bookings over the phone or in person at the Centre. All reservations will be held for four working days pending payment. If your payment is not received within this time, your reservation will be cancelled, and your place/tickets offered to someone else.
To make the whole process easier for you, Prema now accepts credit/debit card payment for all activities. We are able to accept MasterCard, Visa and Switch. You can pay over the phone (not answer machine) or in person at the Centre with your credit/debit card. We are still also happy accept cash or cheques.
When Visiting Prema
Please make sure that you use Prema's car park when visiting the centre. If you need to use either The Street or South Street, please ensure that you do not block driveways, double park or park on private property. When leaving Prema, please do so quietly to keep our friendly neighbors friendly.

Prema reserves the right to refuse entry to latecomers in the interestof both the performers and
other audience members.
Hiring our building
Planning a celebration? Did you know that you can hire Prema? It’s a fantastic venue for a party – we’ve hired out the Chapel for birthday parties, leaving dos, conferences, away-days and parties to celebrate weddings and partnership ceremonies. Prema’s building has a truly special atmosphere and its informal, friendly approach twinned with its glorious rural location makes it an ideal place to hold a party or event.
